This magnificent residence once belonged to Jacques de La Ramiere, Lord of Puycharnaud and adviser to Napoleon III, and dates from the late 1800s. Built in the remarkably symmetrical and graceful style of that era.

The chateau features magnificent staircases, high-ceilinged reception halls and some 50 rooms, including an impressive oak library and an exquisite chapel. Chateau de Puycharnaud is situated on an elevated swath of sweeping green lawn that runs between rich woods edged by ponds and lakes. The land belonging to the chateau encompasses some 30 hectares in total, and also features a number of two-story chalet-style outbuildings in a clearing in the woods behind the chateau.

Having spoke to the current owner, about the works being carried out and the future plans, I can not wait to see this former unloved chateau become again a treasured item of the Dordogne heritage saved for future generations to enjoy, i watch this one with interest...
