Dominating the valley of Ceou, this imposing residence, of medieval origin but rebuilt at the end of XVIth century and in the XVIIth century, currently comprises two perpendicular main buildings bordering a closed court of reinforced walls with towers. The Chateau, a long time given up and plundered, is in the course of restoration.
and a quote of history.. "Such was the case at Le Bugue, where men armed with knifes threatened to open the stomach of the first man to touch the maypole. In Quercy, a similar order given in November 1791, provoked an insurrection of more than 5,000 peasants who invaded Gourdon on December 3, the next day, a smaller group attacked, pillaged and burned the chateau du Repaire in the parish of Saint-Aubin de Nabirat"
Quote from Histoire de Sarlat.
