State - Chateau Ruin
The Chateau Forteresse de Marmande. sat on the peak of a hill in the hamlet of Velleches, its fortifications date to the XIIth and XVIIth centuries.
The keep and staircase tower which stands 29 meters in height are of a exception quality of construction and is said to contain 163 steps. In addition, the castle has an important network of underground tunnels which start in the village for those who wish to escape the fear of war arriving at the hamlet but sadly the chateau nor its grounds/tunnels are accessible to the public, Sadly since these pictues were taken, the roof of the chateau has fallen in.
