Department - Tarn 81
State - Commandry Ruin
The Commanderie is pitched high on a hill top, where a flagstone with a drain was found, which makes it possible to understand that this was a place dedicated to the worship of water.
It was surrounded by a trapezoidal enclosing. On the ground floor of the home is the kitchen with a baker's oven and the refectory all three in row. An octagonal tower (today ploughed up) gave access to the apartments of the commander. The church was located on the ground floor of the capped keep which was 20 meters high.
The commanderie was made up of several building of which a barn which was restored supported by nine buttresses of big size.
Where once sat the proud, bold structure of a commanderie, now only sits the ruins, a shadow of it's former self.
