Part Chateau, Part Ruin - A non-listed stately home (maison seigneuriale) was bought on December 3, 1304 by the (Lord) Seigneur de Cardaillac. Inhabited as early as 1295 by a Knight (chevalier), (Lord) Seigneur de Cadrieu who took the name of the village.
The present chateau consists of a large body of building opening onto a large terrace which dominates the valley of the Lot.
Beneath this terrace, which lies a high vaulted cellar and dates from the old castle, which was burned in 1390 during the hundred years war and was rebuilt various times.
All that remain are the ruins of a renaissance building, with a staircase and two very beautiful stone fireplaces. The chateau was rebuilt in part during the XVIIIth century
