Built in second half of the 12th century, the Chateau de Chateaubrun, a building of typical dark stones for the area which undoubtedly gave the chateau its name, to admire the round keep of the 13th century as of the turns which were a source of particular inspiration for the French writer Georges Sand (1804-1876), in particular in his work entitled "The sin of Mr Antoine".
Set up on a platform in the overhang of the river, the building was built by Hugues de Lusignan before becoming, in 1817, a stone quarry.
The Essentric Artist - I believe it is now the property of the french art sculpter Guy Baudat who's wonderful art is displayed around the Chateau.
