The medieval Chateau de Paluel of the XIVth century built on the site of a building of the 13th century, the chateau is composed of a main building flanked of two towers and the other tower of the staircase is placed at the center.
Posed well on a high quay level, perhaps a mound even, the chateau, the guard of the road to Sarlat. during the XIIIth or maybe even the XIVth, the English disputed it with the Seigneur de Vigier and destroyed it. It was then rebuilt again at the end of XVth century?
It is located two kilometers downstream from the hamlet of Saint-Vincent-le-Paluel, it was burned down by the Nazis in June 1944.
It was used however in the popular french comedy film of 1968 called Le Tatoue with Jean Gabin and Louis de Funes.
