The Ancien Usine de Laurenties in Blajan, Founded in 1851 by Jean Laurenties, Between 1898 and 1901, a Hoffmann kiln is installed, the factory is expanded during the second world war.
The importance of this plant is strengthened in the 1960s by the construction of a modern manufacturing unit, In 1977, the Hoffmann kiln is switched off as the factory starts to transfer production, over 200 people are employed at the plant in the 1970s.
The factory remained open until the 1980's when production was finally transferred to the nearby Imerys factory.
