This chateau built in the 13th century (1205-1232), Siege of the chateau by the Strasbourgeois in 1477, it is believed that this chateau was inhabited in XVth century by the knight Jean Marx, who was characterized for his bravery at the battle of Nancy, before dying he assigned Wilsperger of the court of God and it is told that the baillif, upon learning this news, was given such a fright that he fell down dead.

Situated at an altitude of 599m, it is located on the outskirts of the town of Urbeis, In 1479 the chateau although damaged was still occuped. although by 1543 it had fallen into ruin.
